Vision
To exhibit scientifically the historical, intellectual, and religious profile of Alevi-Bektashi belief which has an important place in Turkish culture.
To archive the inventory of oral and written sources regarding Alevism and Bektashism and to transfer to the next generations.
Academic meetings are held both nationally and internationally in the regions that Alevi and Bektashi culture is prevalent. To enrich our culture in terms of different disciplines such as literature, history, sociology, folklore and music through presenting archive studies obtained from these meetings to scientists.
One of the important issues in Alevism and Bektashism research is collected works. In this sense, the purpose is to determine the historical development of Alevi belief-dede ocakları and corporate and religious links among them in the light of the documents which ocaklı dede families have by conducting various field work.
Today, academic studies related to Alevism and Bektashism and academicians working in this field are scarce. In this regard, the aim is to educate and encourage experts who work on Alevism and Bektashism through supporting academic studies.
To research Alevi Bektashi philosophy that is spreading both in our country and various parts of the world and to lead scientific studies related to this.
To research Hacı Bektaş Veli and his doctrines which constitute a significant place in Alevi Bektashi culture through interdisciplinary studies and to present them to the service of the society.
To contribute to scientific research in Alevism and Bektashism, to produce and disseminate information on a universal scale.
To present the richness of Turkish history and culture by hosting other studies in social sciences as well as the studies of Alevism and Bektashism. To produce and carry out projects in this field.
Mission
Our institution conducts objective studies about Alevism and Bektashism regardless of any ideology. With these academic studies, it is responsible for introducing Hacı Bektaş Veli culture which expands from Anatolia to the Balkans, and from the Balkans to North Africa by contributing to Alevism and Bektashism knowledge.
Our institution that takes a leading part in this field and is conscious of social responsibility in our country produces projects aspiring to solve the country’s problems. Dissertations and articles which have been written to increase the knowledge of Alevism and Bektashism, projects planned, and symposiums aim at contributing to unity and solidarity of our country depending on the doctrine of “Let’s get united, be big and energetic”.
